Rules of the Road - Course #102

This USCG Approved 2 day classroom course focuses on giving the candidate a comprehensive understanding of the International and Inland Rules of the Road.

Subjects Include:

  • Part A General Operating Rules
  • Part B Steering & Sailing Rules
  • Part C Lights & Shapes
  • Part D Sound & Light Signals
  • Annexes to the Rules

Any applicant who has successfully completed your Rules of the Road (MARTPT-431) course with a passing score of at least 90% within one year of application will satisfy:

  • The Rules of the Road examination requirements for renewal of any deck credential up to Master 200 GRT, Master or Mate of Fishing Vessels, or Apprentice Mate (Steersman); AND
  • The Rules of the Road: International and Inland examination requirement to remove a geographic COLREGS limitation from a deck officer endorsement up to Master 200 GRT.

 

A course certificate may be used for one application which results in the issuance of an endorsement and may not be used for any application transactions thereafter.
