Written Exams:
This course is USCG Approved. No Tests at the Coast Guard. You will take written final exam administered at MPT at the end of the program.

NOTE: This course will not change the route of the MMC. For example if you hold a Master 100 Ton Inland and you complete this course you will satisfy the exam requirements for 200 ton inland. If you hold a Master Near Coastal 100 ton, this course will satisfy the exam for 200 grt near coastal. This course is an upgrade of tonnage only provided you meet the sea service and other USCG requirements. IF you need to change your route also, please register for MPT course #105 as well as it is approved to satisfy the change in route.

NOTE ALSO: MPT Strongly encourages you to seek career counseling to ensure that you are applying for the best upgrade you qualify for. Often candidates will actually qualify for a higher tonnage upgrade and in many cases it behooves the mariner to go as high up as possible.
